Prison Officer - HMP Channings Wood
Prison officers protect the public and help make a positive impact on prisoners' lives in a fast-paced and unique environment. You will work directly with offenders, acting as a peacekeeper, mentor, and team member to keep the prison and your colleagues safe. The role involves building constructive, professional relationships with individuals who may be at the lowest point in their lives. You will work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and nights as part of a continuous operation.

Nationality requirements
Open to UK, Irish, Commonwealth nationals, EU/EEA/Swiss nationals with EUSS status, and Turkish nationals with rights under the Ankara Agreement.
Selection process
Closing date is 3rd September 2026. Assessment includes online tests followed by an online assessment centre.
