Prison officers protect the public, help rehabilitate prisoners, and maintain safety and security within a prison environment. You will work directly with individuals from diverse backgrounds, building professional relationships, keeping the peace, and supporting colleagues as part of a close-knit team. Day-to-day duties involve working varied shift patterns including evenings, nights, and weekends to ensure the secure and smooth running of the establishment. This dynamic and challenging role requires high resilience, empathy, and effective communication to positively impact prisoners' lives.
