Assistant Accountant
This role involves working within the Finance Team at the Water Services Regulation Authority to provide essential support in financial operations and resource management. The person will manage tasks such as purchase and sales ledgers, capital and fixed assets, staff expenses, reconciliations, VAT and tax, and the production of annual accounts. Day to day, they will collaborate with Finance Business Partners, internal and external auditors, and HM Treasury to ensure accuracy and compliance. This position is ideal for someone looking to contribute to financial control and statutory reporting in the public sector.
What they're looking for
- Proven experience in a financial accounting environment
- Proficient Excel skills including V-lookups and pivot tables
- Experience reconciling balance sheet accounts using ERP systems
- Familiarity with financial software like Oracle Fusion
- Good oral and written communication skills
Qualifications
- Qualified to AAT or equivalent finance/accounting university degree
