Broadcast Graphics Industrial Placement 2027
This role is a 12-month industrial placement within the Met Office broadcast graphics DevOps team, developing and supporting software used for weather forecasts. You will build applications, troubleshoot issues with internal media customers, and test software integrity in an agile environment. You will collaborate closely with a cohort of fellow placement students and skilled technical experts. The position helps produce weather graphics seen on digital channels and public media services.
What they're looking for
- Studying an undergraduate degree with numeracy, science or IT
- Knowledge of at least one programming language, ideally Python
- Keen interest in IT and current technological developments
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree incorporating a placement year
