Defence Accident Investigation Branch - Deputy Head
The Defence Accident Investigation Branch is looking for a Deputy Head to support senior leadership by keeping branch delivery on track, assuring investigation outputs, and overseeing business management activities. The postholder will work closely with the Head of Branch, headquarters staff, military commands, and external partners to ensure safety investigations and related processes run smoothly. Day-to-day duties include managing team performance, reviewing evidence-based reports, handling sensitive information, and participating in an on-call duty coordinator rota. This senior role requires sound judgement and strong stakeholder engagement to maintain independent safety standards across defence operations.
