Director of Strategic Finance
The Director of Strategic Finance provides critical leadership for one of government's largest spending departments by shaping how more than 100 billion pounds of public funding is invested. Working closely with Ministers, HM Treasury, and senior leaders, you will lead Spending Reviews, funding strategy, and major investment decisions to ensure resources deliver maximum impact and value for money. You will also manage a finance directorate of around 165 staff and play a key role in the wider leadership of the Department for Education. The role involves advising on fiscal strategy, maintaining strong governance, and ensuring robust stewardship of public funds across early years, schools, and capital funding policy.
