Estate Senior Technical Services Manager- HVAC and Mechanical
This senior role provides technical leadership and strategic oversight for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and mechanical services across the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory estate. You will ensure all hard facilities management services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with statutory, regulatory, and organisational requirements. Working closely with facilities managers, providers, and stakeholders, you will provide technical assurance, governance, and expert advice on maintenance, asset condition, and infrastructure improvements. The position acts as the subject matter expert for mechanical systems while driving continuous improvement and best practice.

- Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications
- Industry-recognised HVAC, gas, refrigeration, and F-Gas certifications
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, compliance, and facilities management
- Experience managing contracts, suppliers, and technical risk
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Qualifications
- IWFM Level 5 - Member; RICS FM Pathway or MRICS
- Qualification to NVQ Level 5 or higher in construction or infrastructure
- Mechanical industry qualifications: Trade/HNC/HND
- NVQ Level 3 – Commercial and Industrial Gas Engineering or equivalent

Selection process
Sifting will take place week commencing the 12th October 2026 with interviews from 2nd November 2026.
