This is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and leading strategic communications across the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and its largest arms-length bodies. The role holder will oversee insight-driven communication strategies that use data and research to inform planning, while coordinating responses to high-profile issues and crisis situations. You will work closely with ministers, senior leaders, special advisers, and communication specialists to ensure messaging effectively supports government priorities. Additionally, you will lead teams focused on communication planning and insight to ensure all activities are underpinned by robust evidence and professional standards.
