Investigator
Investigators assess complaints made to the Local Government & Social Care Ombudsman, making early decisions on cases and looking for opportunities to resolve them without a full investigation. They deal with a wide range of topics covering local authority services and private adult social care, working in a pressurised and collaborative environment. Postholders manage their own casework to meet challenging objectives around quality, timeliness and impact while operating with minimal guidance once trained. They also have opportunities to participate in subject-specific forums and projects, including developing the use of artificial intelligence.
