Policy Advisor, Scrutiny - Strategy and Policy Team
This role involves working as a policy advisor within the Strategy and Policy Team of the Prisons Directorate, managing relationships with independent scrutiny bodies that inspect prisons and courts. You will draft high-quality briefings and advice for ministers and senior stakeholders, provide secretariat support, and help resolve high-profile policy and delivery issues. You will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including operational partners and other government departments, to improve the prisons system and outcomes for individuals in custody.

Nationality requirements
This job is broadly open to UK nationals, nationals of the Republic of Ireland, Commonwealth citizens, EU and Swiss nationals with settled or pre-settled status, and Turkish nationals under the Ankara Agreement.
