Press Secretary to the Secretary of State for Education
The Press Secretary leads media advice and delivery for the Secretary of State for Education, overseeing all press activity and requests in a high-profile government department. The role involves working closely with the cabinet minister, special advisers, and private office to shape the news agenda and ensure priorities are communicated effectively through traditional and social media. Responsibilities include providing strategic media advice, briefing the Secretary of State ahead of appearances, and working alongside the wider communications and social media teams. The postholder acts as part of the media senior leadership team, participating in an out-of-hours rota and undertaking travel as required.

Nationality requirements
Open to UK, Irish, Commonwealth, EU/EEA, Swiss and Turkish nationals with appropriate rights or EUSS status.
Selection process
