Principal Compliance Manager
The Principal Compliance Manager leads an intelligence-led programme of compliance monitoring and internal audit activity to strengthen governance, risk management, and regulatory adherence within the Department for Transport. The role involves working closely with senior leaders, subject matter experts, and the Government Internal Audit Agency to coordinate audits, track recommendations, and drive continuous improvement across security and information management. Working within the Digital, Information and Security Directorate, the postholder uses evidence and insight to assess performance and promote a culture of accountability.
What they're looking for
- Experience developing and implementing audit plans and leading internal audits
- Track record of implementing, monitoring, and reporting on compliance programmes
- Strong understanding of data protection, information governance, and security standards
- Ability to work with senior leaders and external agencies to coordinate compliance
- Background in governance, risk, and compliance within a complex organisation
Qualifications
- Industry recognised lead audit qualification such as ISO27001 or similar
