Roman Catholic Chaplain
The job holder will provide faith, belief, and pastoral care to prisoners and staff of their own tradition while understanding other beliefs as part of a multifaith chaplaincy team. They will plan and lead worship, provide guidance and crisis support, and work with volunteers and local communities to aid offender resettlement. The role also involves contributing to local policies, delivering training, and ensuring the delivery of faith and pastoral care policies within the establishment.
What they're looking for
- Ordained Priest, Permanent Deacon, Religious Brother/Sister or lay person
- Completed formally recognised theological formation or qualification
- Formal endorsement from Diocesan Bishop or Religious Superior
- Formal agreement from local diocesan bishop to minister in prisons
Qualifications
- Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies (CCRS) or equivalent
- Formal theological formation or qualification
Nationality requirements
Open to UK, Irish, Commonwealth, EU and Turkish nationals with appropriate rights to work or EUSS status.
