Senior Financial Accounting Manager
The Senior Financial Accounting Manager assists the Head of Finance with financial and systems accounting, reporting, and the production of annual accounts for Forest Research. The role involves developing financial controls, managing fixed assets, preparing month-end and year-end reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and HM Treasury guidelines. The post holder works alongside the Head of Finance and Accounts Payable Manager to lead, train, and develop a small finance team. Additionally, the role provides technical expertise on fixed asset accounting, delivers IR35 training, and liaises with internal and external auditors.
What they're looking for
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant with a recognised body
- Strong technical knowledge of fixed asset accounting and IAS 16
- Experience preparing month and year-end reconciliations
- Substantial experience leading a successful transactional accounts function
- Proficient in using ERP systems and Microsoft Office
Qualifications
- ACCA, CIMA, ACA or similar professional accounting qualification
Nationality requirements
Open to UK, Irish, Commonwealth, EU/EEA/Swiss, and Turkish nationals with relevant right to work or EUSS status.
Selection process
Sift planned for 21-23 October 2026. Interviews week commencing 9th November 2026 in person with a presentation.
