Senior Structural Engineer
The Senior Structural Engineer provides specialist technical advice and assurance on the safety, resilience, and performance of Defence infrastructure worldwide. The role supports the Ministry of Defence intelligent client function by delivering expertise across the design, construction, inspection, maintenance, and refurbishment of diverse structural assets. The post holder works within the Structures Team in Technical Services, collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver engineering solutions and safety assessments. Responsibilities include advising on steel, concrete, masonry, timber, and modular structures, reviewing higher-risk buildings, and investigating structural defects and failures.

- Experience in design, construction or maintenance of structures
- Understanding of masonry, timber and modular construction
- Knowledge of structural inspection and defect investigation
- Ability to apply structural engineering standards
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications
- Civil/Structural Engineering Degree BEng/MEng
- Full UK Driving License
- Chartered Engineer status (or working towards Chartership)
