SPI: Woodwork Wood Machinist (0.5FTE) HMP Isle of Wight
The job holder will supervise prisoners in a specialist woodwork workshop to help them improve employment prospects and reduce reoffending. Daily duties include teaching woodworking skills, maintaining workshop security, assessing prisoner progress, and ensuring production targets are met. You will work directly with prisoners and collaborate with prison staff to maintain a safe, productive environment. This is a non-operational instructional role based within a prison establishment.

- Relevant work experience in a production environment
- Experience using industrial standard machinery and equipment
- Ability to read, understand and work from technical drawings
- Basic maths and English skills
- IT skills and supervisory experience
Qualifications
- Level 3 or equivalent in Woodwork related production
- Level 3 NVQ assessor
