Visits and Events Specialist
This role supports the planning and delivery of ministerial visits and events for Defra group Communications, helping ministers engage the public and communicate departmental priorities. The postholder works with the Visits and Events Lead, private offices, and policy teams to scope venues, manage logistics from initial planning to on-the-day delivery, and prepare briefing materials. Responsibilities also include evaluating events, providing strategic communications advice, building stakeholder relationships, and managing reputational risks. Additionally, the role involves line management, participating in an out-of-hours duty rota, and ensuring all activity adheres to government standards.
