Assistant Head Finance Accounting, Tax and Compliance
You will lead the production of financial accounts and manage the audit process for the Defence Housing Service within the Ministry of Defence. Working closely with finance colleagues, auditors, and senior leaders, you will provide expert accounting advice, oversee tax compliance, and ensure robust financial controls and governance. You will also manage external reporting requirements including parliamentary questions and freedom of information requests. This role plays a vital part in a major housing transformation programme supporting the UK armed forces and their families.

- Experience leading financial reporting, accounting, audit or assurance
- Experience producing and reviewing financial accounts or governance papers
- Practitioner level financial governance under the finance framework
- Experience leading teams, developing capability and delivering outputs
- Ability to communicate and influence effectively with senior stakeholders
Qualifications
- Qualified with CCAB, CIMA or equivalent with financial experience
