Decontamination Engineering Manager
This Decontamination Engineering Manager role oversees decontamination engineering systems like autoclaves and washer disinfectors across Defra Group Property’s science estate, with a primary focus at the Weybridge laboratory. The postholder acts as the technical subject matter expert, leading governance, assurance, maintenance, and asset management for these critical systems. They collaborate closely with the contracted facilities management service provider, project teams, and regulators to ensure equipment is fully compliant and fit for purpose. Additionally, the role involves investigating incidents, developing technical specifications, and authoring business cases for future equipment investments.
What they're looking for
- Operational or maintenance management experience in decontamination industry
- Experience working in the high containment industry or similar environment
- Experience as an Authorised Person or Authorising Engineer for Decontamination
- Understanding of decontamination principles and relevant technical standards
- Ability to work with little or no supervision and prioritise demands
Qualifications
- Engineering Diploma
- Member of an appropriate professional engineering institute, such as IHEEM, IMECHE or IET

Selection process
Sifting will take place during the week commencing 12th October 2026. Interviews are scheduled for the week commencing 2nd November 2026, conducted face to face or by video.
