Head of Operational Function - Dorset PDU
This role provides management and leadership within the National Probation Service with responsibility for resources, operations, and strategic direction across a Local Delivery Unit or functional area. The post holder will lead cluster operational delivery, manage devolved budgets, oversee risk management, and represent the service with external agencies, stakeholders, and strategic partnerships. Day to day duties include managing staff and middle managers, overseeing safeguarding and multi-agency public protection arrangements, and leading local strategies within the national framework. The successful candidate will work closely with the Divisional Senior Leadership Team and may be required to participate in an out of hours senior management on call rota.

Qualifications
- Probation Qualification Framework Graduate Diploma or Honours Degree
- Level 5 Diploma in Probation Practice
- Diploma in Probation Studies
- Diploma in Social Work with Probation Option
Nationality requirements
Open to UK, Irish, Commonwealth, EU and Turkish nationals with relevant work rights or EUSS status.
