Head of Physical Security (FTA)
The Head of Physical Security acts as the principal security adviser to the Chief Executive, Executive Team, and wider business at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre. This role manages the appointed security services provider contract for building and event security, guarding, and site radio communications to maintain a safe and compliant environment. Responsibilities include leading counterterrorism and public protection procedures, ensuring readiness for Martyn's Law, and coordinating security planning for high-profile events. The postholder works closely with the police, emergency services, event teams, and the health and safety adviser to assess risks and promote a positive security culture.
What they're looking for
- Experience influencing senior leaders and embedding a security culture
- Security management qualification or relevant experience with SIA accreditation
- Knowledge of the Terrorism Protection of Premises Act 2025 or Martyn's Law
- Experience managing security contracts and risk assessments in events
- Experience managing relationships with police and emergency services
Qualifications
- Recognised qualification in security management or substantial relevant experience
- Current SIA accreditation
- Qualification in counterterrorism and hostile reconnaissance
- SIA CCTV accreditation
Nationality requirements
Open to UK, Republic of Ireland, Commonwealth, EU/EEA/Swiss nationals with EUSS status, and Turkish nationals under the Ankara Agreement.
