Higher Statistical Officer
You will apply your analytical and problem-solving skills to real-world questions, helping provide the evidence that underpins critical decisions facing the country. Your day-to-day work involves designing innovative solutions, managing and analysing data, and using a variety of software tools and statistical techniques to support policy areas like transport, the natural environment, and public safety. You will collaborate with stakeholders and colleagues to deliver high-quality statistical advice and analysis. Additionally, you will explain technical findings in clear, accessible language to non-experts and help guide junior staff.

- Good communication skills to explain complex analysis to non-specialists
- Ability to deliver analysis outputs to tight deadlines
- Experience taking a leading role in a team to ensure delivery
Qualifications
- First- or second-class honours degree in a numerate subject
- Higher degree with formal statistical training
- Minimum three years in statistical or data science with CPD logbook
Nationality requirements
Open to UK, Irish, Commonwealth, EU and Turkish nationals with the right to work in the UK.
