Statistical Officer
The Government Statistical Service is hiring Statistical Officers to apply analytical and research techniques to solve complex problems in data management and analysis. You will work across a wide range of high-profile topics including transport, the natural environment, crime, and public safety. Day to day, you will use various software packages and analytical techniques to produce timely statistical outputs and communicate findings to non-specialist audiences. You will collaborate within a team and engage constructively with stakeholders to deliver trusted evidence that supports decision-making.

- Experience in practical analysis or research with in-depth knowledge of data sources
- Ability to manage own workload and contribute to statistical production
- Good communication skills to explain complex analysis to non-specialists
- Ability to work as part of a team to deliver statistical advice under tight deadlines
Qualifications
- First- or second-class honours degree (2:2 minimum) in a numerate subject
- Higher degree such as MSc or PhD in a subject containing formal statistical training
- Level 4 Data Analytics apprenticeship with 2 years of government statistical experience
