The Statistical Data Analyst contributes to policy development, monitoring, and evaluation of sustainable forest management by supporting analysis and advice on the economic aspects of forestry. The role involves working with a project lead on timber utilisation statistics, processing data using R or SAS, and supporting the Official Statistics team. The postholder collaborates with internal teams, external partners, and cross-departmental groups to ensure compliance with the Code of Practice for Statistics. Additionally, the role supports the economic lead in managing economic data and compiling reports on annual timber industry surveys.

This job is broadly open to UK nationals, Republic of Ireland nationals, Commonwealth citizens with right to work, EU/EEA/Swiss/Liechtenstein/Norway family members with settled status under EUSS, and Turkish nationals under the Ankara Agreement.

Sift is planned to take place week commencing 5th October 2026. Interviews are in person in week commencing 19 October 2026.
