Horticulturalist/Gardens Manager - SPI: Commercial Horticulture
The job holder will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of prisoners in the horticulture and land-based activities work area. You will maintain prison grounds, oversee planting, harvesting, and conservation, and teach prisoners practical skills to help improve their future employment prospects. The role involves ensuring safety and security standards are met while maintaining discipline and a positive working environment. You will work within HM Prison Woodhill, collaborating with prisoners, colleagues, and external organizations.
What they're looking for
- Relevant work experience in horticulture and machinery
- Conversant with grounds maintenance and soil husbandry
- Supervisory experience is desirable
- Knowledge of health and safety and COSHH regulations
Qualifications
- Full current United Kingdom driving licence
- Level 3 qualification in horticulture or equivalent
- PA1 PA6 spray certification
- Recognised workplace assessor qualification
