ODA and International Biodiversity Funds Deputy Director
This role directs the international biodiversity and official development assistance portfolio at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, managing a substantial budget to tackle global environmental and poverty challenges. The postholder oversees flagship programmes like the Darwin Initiative, ensures rigorous financial governance, and negotiates spending reviews across government. They lead a multidisciplinary team while setting professional standards for the wider ODA community and building partnerships with international donors and private sector organisations. The position requires strategic leadership to align environmental outcomes with government priorities and international commitments.
