Policy Adviser - Special Situations
This role involves working on high-profile projects that combine government policy, corporate finance, and commercial negotiations for HM Treasury. You will lead on situations where companies face financial difficulties, using financial information to inform decision-making and provide recommendations to ministers. You will build strong relationships with colleagues across government and external partners to develop high-quality advice on commercial matters and interventions. Additionally, you will support the strategic oversight of active casework, oversee the casework pipeline, and help develop best practices for considering commercial interventions.

Nationality requirements
Open to UK, Ireland, Commonwealth, EU and Turkish nationals with appropriate working rights.
Selection process
Interviews will take place in the week commencing 23rd November 2026 and will include an interview task or presentation.
