Principal Developer
The Principal Developer leads the creation of new legal software-as-a-service solutions, removes technical debt, and champions emerging legal technologies within the Government Legal Department. Working in the Digital, Data and Cyber division's Product team, the role involves designing scalable cloud architecture, resolving complex technical issues, and collaborating with user researchers and cross-government professionals. The successful candidate sets development strategy, manages resource allocation, and ensures secure-by-design principles are embedded across all platforms.

- Expert legal IT development and cloud migration experience
- Proficiency in SQL, C#, PowerShell, Angular, and VBScript
- Designing high-risk systems within enterprise architecture
- Implementing modern development standards and security controls
- Problem-solving root causes and supporting systems integration
Nationality requirements
Open to UK, Irish, Commonwealth, EU/EEA, and Turkish nationals with appropriate right to work or EUSS status.
