Seasonal Bee Inspector
Seasonal Bee Inspectors organise and conduct statutory inspection programmes of honeybee colonies to protect biosecurity and safeguard bee health. Day to day, you will inspect colonies for notifiable pests and diseases, treat or destroy infected hives, issue movement notices, and collect statutory samples. You will also engage with commercial and hobbyist beekeepers to provide advice, deliver talks and demonstrations, and maintain accurate inspection records. You will work as part of the National Bee Unit within the Animal and Plant Health Agency, collaborating closely with beekeepers, research institutes, and regional inspectors.

- Substantial beekeeping experience and high standard of bee handling
- Confident, self-motivated communicator with strong customer skills
- Knowledge of apiculture pests, diseases, and notifiable threats
- Competent user of Microsoft IT packages including Outlook and Excel
- Understanding of basic Health and Safety and safe working practices
Qualifications
- Full UK Driving Licence

Selection process
Assessments include a photographic assessment and interview on Microsoft Teams, followed by a face-to-face apiary assessment.
