Security Officer
Security Officers act as the first point of contact for visitors and staff entering GCHQ buildings. They anticipate and reduce security risks, monitor CCTV, oversee building access, and carry out physical searches and patrols on foot and in vehicles. Officers respond to alarms, provide first aid, and guide visitors through security procedures while keeping clear incident logs. They work closely within a supportive team and collaborate with MI5, MI6, and other security partners.

- Clear communication and friendly people skills
- Basic IT and Microsoft Office skills
Qualifications
- English Language GCSE at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent experience
- Full driving licence
Nationality requirements
To work at GCHQ you need to be a British citizen or hold dual British nationality.
Selection process
The process includes an online application, Situational Judgement Tests, an application sift, and a virtual interview.
