Senior Media Officer
The Senior Media Officer leads the department's response to breaking news stories, emerging issues, and media enquiries while ensuring effective handling of high-profile matters. The role involves developing robust media handling strategies and rebuttal plans, monitoring the news agenda, and providing expert communications advice to ministers and senior officials. Working within the Communications Directorate, the postholder collaborates closely with journalists, broadcasters, and colleagues across government. The position also includes participating in an out-of-hours duty rota and line managing junior team members.
