Ship Systems Engineering System Owner
The Submarine Delivery Agency within the Ministry of Defence is seeking an engineering system owner to manage mechanical systems design and provide expert technical advice for the nuclear submarine platform. The successful candidate will work closely with the platform authority, shipbuilders, and regulators to make evidence-based design decisions and approve safety cases. This role requires making critical technical evaluations and handling risk management to ensure the delivery of safe and available submarine platforms. Day-to-day duties involve interpreting user requirements, liaising with certification authorities, and deputising for senior engineering leadership as needed.

- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer professional registration
- Experience of providing technical advice at a senior level
- Leading delivery of engineering outcomes in multidisciplinary projects
- Depth of technical experience with understanding of interdependencies
Qualifications
- Relevant Level 6 (or higher) qualification or equivalent experience
- Member of a relevant Professional Engineering/Science Institute
