Specialist Production Instructor: Warehousing and Performing Manufacturing Operations
The job holder will be responsible for providing supervision, knowledge and skills to prisoners in a specialist workshop so they can improve their employment prospects on release with a view to reducing reoffending. The role involves inducting prisoners into the workshop, training them in health and safety and machinery usage, and assessing their skills up to national qualification standards. The successful candidate will maintain discipline and security within the workshop while supporting prisoners to achieve work targets and quality standards. Working closely with prisoners, the instructor ensures all services are delivered to a high standard in a secure prison establishment environment.
What they're looking for
- Industrial or warehousing experience
- Some supervisory experience preferred
- Experience using industrial standard machinery and equipment
- Basic IT, maths and English skills
Qualifications
- Level 3 or equivalent in related subject or prepared to work towards
- Qualified NVQ assessor desirable
