Technician Scientist
The post holder will work within the Research and Evaluation department at the UK Health Security Agency to conduct hands-on laboratory work with clinical and non-clinical samples. They will apply molecular, serological, and antigenic techniques to develop, evaluate, and implement diagnostic methods for various infectious diseases and pathogens. Working alongside senior scientists and multidisciplinary teams, the technical scientist will support diagnostic evaluation activities, maintain laboratory standards, and contribute to outbreak responses and surge capacity operations.
What they're looking for
- Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent laboratory experience
- Experience in microbiological diagnostic test development and validation
- Hands-on experience working in a laboratory with microbial pathogens
- Experience of working within a regulated environment
- Willingness to undergo required vaccinations and participate in surge response
Qualifications
- Degree in Biomedical Science, Microbiology, Virology, Molecular Biology, or Immunology
Nationality requirements
