Virology Department Building Officer (CR1950)
The Virology Department Building Officer manages low containment laboratories and assists with high containment facilities to support statutory diagnostic, surveillance, and research activities. The role involves acting as the main contact for containment level 2 facilities, coordinating maintenance with contractors, ensuring compliance with safety legislation, and delivering staff training and emergency drills. The postholder works closely with department staff, safety teams, and facilities management while participating in an on-call rota for out-of-hours building issues. This is a hands-on laboratory position requiring physical presence and compliance with strict health and safety protocols.

Qualifications

Nationality requirements
