Assistant Private Secretary to the Minister
This role involves working closely with government ministers and special advisers to deliver priorities and ensure they are clearly understood across the Department for Work and Pensions. The postholder will collaborate with senior stakeholders in policy and operations to provide timely advice and build a strong understanding of their portfolio area. Responsibilities include supporting ministers in meetings, capturing accurate actions, and building a network across private offices in key government departments. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional organisational skills to manage demanding deadlines in a fast-moving ministerial environment.

Nationality requirements

Selection process
The sift will be carried out in October 2026. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a face-to-face interview at Caxton House, London.
