Commercial Vehicle Examiner (Enforcement) - Shift working - London
Commercial Vehicle Examiners inspect commercial vehicles to ensure they meet safety and roadworthiness standards and help keep Britain's roads safe. You will conduct roadside checks, identify vehicle defects, take appropriate enforcement action, and provide clear technical advice to drivers and operators. Working closely with colleagues and partner agencies, you will also prepare reports, analyse data, and present evidence in court or at public inquiries. This is a hands-on, public-facing role requiring regular physical activity and strong communication skills.

- Proficiency using laptop computers and smart phones
Qualifications
- Full and current UK car driving licence
- Level 3 vocational qualification in Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
- IMI ATA registration at diagnostic technician level
- IRTEC registration at advanced technician level
Nationality requirements
Open to UK, Irish, Commonwealth, EU and Turkish nationals with the right to work in the UK.
Selection process
Qualification sift takes place between 13th and 19th October 2026. Interviews will be held in person between 2nd and 13th November 2026.
