Commercial Vehicle Examiner (Enforcement) - Shift working
As a Commercial Vehicle Examiner, you will inspect commercial vehicles to check that they meet safety and roadworthiness standards. You will identify vehicle defects, take appropriate enforcement action, and provide clear technical advice to drivers, operators, and colleagues. You will carry out roadside checks, prepare reports, and present evidence in court or at public inquiries when required. This public-facing role helps protect road users and makes a direct difference to road safety across the country.

Qualifications
- Full and current car driving licence
- Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Level 3 or equivalent
- IMI ATA registration at diagnostic technician level
- IRTEC registration at advanced technician level
Nationality requirements
Open to UK, Irish, Commonwealth, EU and Turkish nationals with appropriate rights to work.
Selection process
Qualification sift takes place between 13th and 19th October 2026. In-person interviews take place between 2nd and 13th November 2026.
