Head, AI for Medicines Safety
The Head of Artificial Intelligence for Medicines Safety leads the Beyond ADMET regulatory sandbox programme within the Safety and Surveillance Group at the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency. The postholder provides overall leadership and scientific direction, bridging artificial intelligence, medicines development, and patient safety to improve predictive outcomes and regulatory science. They manage a multidisciplinary team, oversee governance and budgets, and build strategic partnerships across government, industry, and academia. The role establishes the agency as a global leader in AI-enabled regulation and shapes future regulatory policy.

- Senior leadership experience in AI, computational modelling, toxicology, or pharmacology
- Experience leading complex strategic programmes and major innovation initiatives
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and specialist technical experts
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders and collaborating with external partners
Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant scientific, technical or healthcare discipline
- Postgraduate qualification in AI, computational biology, pharmacology or related field
