Health, Safety & Environment Principal (Energetics)
You will provide strategic leadership for safety across high-hazard energetics activities at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory. You will act as a recognised expert to advise senior leaders, shape safety strategy, and lead a specialist team of safety professionals. You will collaborate internally and with external partners to drive continuous improvement, influence best practice, and ensure high safety standards. This role enables cutting-edge science and technology that supports UK defence and security.

- Significant experience in energetics, explosives, or high-hazard environments
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate complex safety requirements
- Extensive experience leading safety within high-hazard environments
- Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills
Qualifications
- NEBOSH National Diploma (Level 6) or equivalent
- NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Process Safety Management
- Root Cause Analysis (Human Factors) training

Open to UK nationals only. This job is not open to candidates who hold a dual nationality.
Selection process
Sifting will take place week commencing the 19th October with interviews to be arranged from the 16th November.
