Healthcare Scientist Team Manager (Virology and Molecular)
The Healthcare Scientist Team Manager leads the Virology and Molecular laboratory team within the UK Health Security Agency to deliver external quality assessment schemes. The role involves organizing the preparation and quality control of simulated specimens, overseeing data analysis, and supporting staff recruitment, training, and development. The post holder collaborates with internal colleagues, external stakeholders, and steering committees to provide scientific advice and ensure compliance with accreditation standards. Additionally, the role contributes to service improvement, health and safety compliance, and future laboratory developments.
What they're looking for
- Msc or higher in Medical Microbiology or Virology
- Experience in virology, serology and molecular techniques
- Experience in Quality Management systems and laboratory safety
- Strong people management and communication skills
Qualifications
- MSc or an equivalent/higher qualification in Medical Microbiology/Virology
Nationality requirements
Open to UK, Irish, Commonwealth, EU/EEA/Swiss and Turkish nationals with appropriate right to work or EUSS status.
