Senior Healthcare Scientist
This role is based in the sequencing laboratory to support the delivery of pathogen genomic services that are resilient, scalable, and adaptable to emerging public health challenges. The post holder will translate genomics research into routine service delivery while ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and training are maintained. Working closely with senior leadership and laboratory teams, they will drive continuous improvement, foster innovation, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of sequencing technologies. Additionally, they will provide professional leadership, manage support services and equipment, and contribute to future laboratory strategies.
What they're looking for
- Educated to a degree in microbiology, biological science, or molecular biology
- Extensive knowledge and experience in at least one specialist area of the unit
- Substantive experience supporting next generation sequencing and automation
- Experience managing and motivating a team and reviewing performance

Nationality requirements
Open to UK, Ireland, Commonwealth, EU and Turkish nationals with appropriate right to work or EUSS status.
Selection process
Interviews will be held face to face at Colindale and will include questions and a 5-minute presentation.
