Laboratory Technician
Join the Tree Health Team at Forest Research as a Laboratory Technician, supporting vital applied forest science and tree health diagnostics. You will work across main laboratories and specialist containment facilities, managing laboratory waste, maintaining equipment, and preparing samples for pathology and entomology projects. Collaborating closely with researchers and technical staff, you will ensure compliance with biosecurity, health, and safety standards to protect woodlands from pests and diseases.
What they're looking for
- Bachelor of Science in plant biology, forestry or microbiology
- Practical experience in a diagnostic or research environment
- Experience with stock solutions, media preparation and waste disposal
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Competent IT user with experience of MS Office packages

- Bachelor of Science degree in plant biological sciences, forestry or microbiology

Selection process
Sift will take place week commencing 26 October 2026. Interviews are planned for week commencing 9 November 2026 in person.
