Local Government Accountability and Improvement Policy Advisors
Policy advisors shape the strategic direction of local government and support devolution by addressing significant challenges faced by councils. They develop and deliver policies across areas including accountability systems, workforce, pay, improvement strategies, and leadership programmes. Post-holders work closely with colleagues across government, local authorities, and external organizations to deliver high-quality advice to ministers and senior leaders. They also handle complex correspondence and parliamentary questions while building an inclusive team culture.
