Minerals Technical and Operational Delivery Lead
This role involves leading the specialist minerals function within the Valuation Office Agency, overseeing nationally significant valuation work and shaping valuation practice. You will lead a skilled team responsible for valuing complex mineral and waste properties like quarries, mines, and landfill sites, while providing expert advice to government departments. Working alongside senior leaders and industry stakeholders, you will drive continuous improvement, maintain professional standards, and support the long-term sustainability of the profession. The position requires managing complex valuation matters, supporting professional capability development, and occasionally representing the department in tribunals and higher courts.
What they're looking for
- MRICS or FRICS qualified Chartered Surveyor with minerals valuation experience
- Extensive expertise in Non-Domestic Rating and specialist property valuations
- Proven technical leadership in a minerals surveying or related environment
- Experience preparing and presenting expert evidence in formal proceedings
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Qualifications
- MRICS or FRICS qualified Chartered Surveyor
- IRRV(hons) qualified in valuation or real estate pathways
- Full UK driving licence
