Scheme Organiser FEPTU
This role involves leading and managing the Food and Environmental Proficiency Testing Unit staff and services to ensure maximum productivity and compliance with safety and quality standards. The person will provide expert scientific advice, drive business development for national and international growth, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across public health microbiology. Responsibilities also include managing budgets, overseeing health and safety, and supporting wider public health deliverables.
What they're looking for
- PhD or equivalent experience in public health, medical microbiology, or FW&E microbiology
- Postgraduate management qualification or equivalent senior management experience
- Knowledge and experience of clinical or FW&E lab procedures, safety and quality
- Experience in stakeholder management, relationship building, and networks
- Significant leadership and management experience in microbiology labs or EQA schemes
Qualifications
- PhD in public health, medical microbiology, or FW&E microbiology
- Postgraduate management qualification (e.g. MSc, MBA, HSM)
Nationality requirements
Open to UK nationals, Republic of Ireland, Commonwealth, EU, EEA, Swiss, and Turkish nationals with relevant status.
Selection process
Single face-to-face interview at the Colindale Scientific Campus including a short scenario exercise.
