Senior Data Scientist (Natural Language Processing)
This role involves progressing the adoption of data-driven methods, machine learning, and artificial intelligence within the organisation. You will work closely with product managers, data engineers, subject matter experts, and business analysts to solve complex problems and extract value from data. Responsibilities include developing machine learning models, processing legal text to extract information, and communicating insights to technical and non-technical audiences. You will help build team capability and adhere to government data ethics frameworks.

- Background in a quantitative field like Data Science or Computer Science
- In-depth knowledge of language processing tools, deep learning and transformers
- Proficient in coding for data science using Python and SQL querying
- Experience of text mining, data annotation and supervised model training
Nationality requirements
Open to UK, Irish, Commonwealth, EU/EEA, Swiss, and Turkish nationals with appropriate rights to work or settled/pre-settled status.
Selection process
Applications close 1 October. Selected candidates will complete an online test followed by an in-person interview and a technical whiteboarding exercise in late October.
