The Senior Policy Adviser works within the AI Harms and Regulation team in the Security and Online Harms directorate to help mitigate artificial intelligence harms through updates to the Online Safety Act. Day to day, the post holder drives forward policy measures to prevent under 18s from accessing sexualised chatbots and features, conducts thorough research, and guides proposals through legislative processes. They collaborate closely with lawyers, analysts, senior civil servants, ministers, and external stakeholders such as Ofcom. The role is vital for ensuring emerging technologies are safely developed and deployed while keeping citizens protected online.
