As a Senior Test Engineer within the Chief Digital and Information Office at HM Revenue and Customs, you will lead and enhance performance and non-functional testing capabilities across cloud applications and platforms. You will work collaboratively with product owners, developers, architects, and operations teams to plan and execute volume testing while ensuring digital services remain scalable and reliable. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve defining non-functional requirements, automating test solutions, and investigating complex live service issues. Ultimately, this role ensures that critical digital infrastructure meets rigorous standards before supporting live public operations.

• Leading and delivering Performance and Volume Testing in enterprise environments
• Defining non-functional test strategies, workload models, and acceptance criteria
• Developing automated testing solutions using tools like JMeter, Jenkins, and Python
• Validating observability platforms such as AppDynamics, Dynatrace, and Grafana

Qualifications

• ISTQB Foundation or equivalent certification
• Performance Testing, Cloud, Infrastructure, DevOps or Automation certifications
