Traffic Examiner
Traffic Examiners carry out roadside checks on heavy goods vehicles and passenger transport to ensure compliance with road safety laws and regulations. They inspect vehicles, analyse tachograph records, prohibit dangerous drivers or vehicles, and prepare accurate reports and evidence for court proceedings or the Traffic Commissioner. Working as part of an enforcement team on behalf of the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency, they engage with drivers and transport operators to promote safety and education.

Qualifications
- Full UK driving licence
Nationality requirements
Open to UK, Republic of Ireland, Commonwealth, EU, EEA, Swiss, and Turkish nationals with appropriate rights to work or settled status.
Selection process
Sift takes place on 20 October 2026. Interviews and written exercises take place between 4 and 20 November 2026 in person at a DVSA office.
